Creative Savvy

Poplar House Farm, Station Road, Bagworth, Leics, LE67 1BJ

Creative Savvy offers opportunities to adults with a learning disability to learn woodworking skills, maintain the land, grow vegetables and take part in rural crafting activities.

Launched in 2015, Creative Savvy is based on a farm in Bagworth, and provides transferable life and work skills, all within a safe setting. Trainees must be prepared to work outdoors all year round in all weather conditions.

One Young Man’s Story

K is a young adult with learning difficulties, who wanted to learn how to handle dogs as part of an ASDAN qualification. K started training with Creative Savvy, where he also gained skills in woodworking. This added practical skill enabled K to create numerous products over the festive season. Using wood from pallets, K made Christmas trees (which sold like hot cakes!).

K enjoyed his time at K9 Savvy (now Creative Savvy) and he kept coming back for the next 2 years. As a pupil at the Dorothy Goodman school, K’s communication was seen as an area he struggled with and, as a result of working with us, this improved dramatically.

School Feedback

The Dorothy Goodman school shared their thoughts:

“We would like to say a very special and sincere thank you to the Forever Savvy teams for the outstanding work you do with our students and the opportunities you offer them. The dedication the teams show is to be commended. Our students are passionate about the work they carry out with you and relish being part of the team.

We have seen fabulous personal development: our student at Creative Savvy is now able to complete his tasks with minimal support and is competent in his achievements. There has been a significant improvement in his social skills. Our staff thoroughly enjoy their time with you and the warm, friendly and safe environment you create. We look forward to our continuing relationship!”
